1999年10月と2002年の5月、梨本はイタリアへプライベートな旅行をします。病床で本人はこの時の写真を再度確認することを希望していましたが、その時点では見つかりませんでした。今回、本ホームページを作成するにあたり、後に発見されたネガを夫人から拝借することが出来ました。
撮影された写真を見ると、空間の捉え方や、着目しているモノの特徴が、80年代の東京での写真と通じていることが感じられます。彼の撮影スタイルは、立って見ている自分の目の位置が基本であり、作為的にアングルを探る動きはしていません。撮影に同行した時の記憶では、180cm弱の身長で棒立ちして、手持ちのニコンF3で撮影していた姿が思い出されます。そのため少し空間を見下ろしたような、独特のアングルが生まれています。それは自身が見ているイメージの形が崩れないように、慎重に写真に写しとろうという姿勢の反映のように思えます。
大学卒業の頃、イタリアを舞台にしたアンドレイ タルコフスキーの映画「ノスタルジア」が公開され、その映像について話し合った覚えがあります。他にフェリーニの作品もよく話題にしていました。また治療の副作用で、自分が中世のヨーロッパの都市の迷宮を彷徨っているビジョンを見た、と語っていました。その理由は不確かですが、ヨーロッパ、中でもイタリアが彼を惹きつけていたようです。
イタリアの写真を加えるにあたり夫人にはネガの手配、撮影地の示唆などお世話になりました。ホームページの開設の許諾をいただけましたことと合わせまして、ここに御礼を申し上げます。

In October 1999 and May 2002,Nashimoto took private trips to Italy.
He wanted to check the photos from those trips again while he was in bedbug they were not found at the time.In creating this website, we were able to borrow the negatives, which were later discovered, from his wife.
Looking at the photos he took, we can see that his way of perceiving space and the characteristics of the things he was looking at are similar to the photos he took in Tokyo in the 1980s.His shooting style is based on standing with his eyes looking at the subject, and he dose not seem to be trying to find an angle.If you accompany him, you will remember him standing straight up with his height of just under 180 cm ,shooting with his Nikon F3 in his hand.This creates a unique angle that seems to look down on the space.I feel that this was created by carefully trying to capture the image he saw and felt in his photographs without losing its shape.
Round the time he graduated from university, Andrei Tarkovsky’s film “Nostalgia”,set in Italy, was released, and I remember us talking about the footage.It is believed that he had strong feelings for Italy, as seen in the works of Fellini, among others. He said that while in bed, as a side effect of his treatment, he had a vision of wandering the Labyrinths of a medieval European city. The reason for this is unclear, but it seems that Europe, and Italy particular, fascinated him.
In adding the Italian photographs, his wife was of great help in arranging the negatives and suggesting shooting locations. I would like to express my gratitude to her for giving me permission to set up this website.
